Friday's Favorites...a Golden Time...

Today the boys and I head south...for good.
This past week I've been reflecting on our time here...and Mrs. K was right.
Living with my parents has been a Golden Time.
It's been great exposing the boys to life on a farm.
My favorite parts:
- Mini #1 no longer screams when a bug lands on him. Instead...he'll pick up a frog and laughs as he gets peed on.
- He knows what an anhydrous tank is.
- He calls himself a "farm kid."
- Mini #2 loves riding the 4-wheeler.
- His favorite animal sound is "Moo."
- I was able to share with both boys a few of the things I did when growing up...attending my old grade school, throwing rocks over the rickety bridge, walking up to great grandma's, catching lightning bugs, and most importantly looking at the stars.
I hope the boys always remember the time they've spent here. I know I will.
And now...on to the next chapter.

A Father's Day story...

Mini #1 asked Papa to read a book to him as they were eating breakfast on Father's Day.
The book he picked is an adorable "Funny Bunny" book all about cute cuddly bunnies.
Here's Papa's version.
"Shoot the bunny...shoot...shoot...shoot."
"Butcher the bunny...cut...cut...cut."
"Cook the bunny...heat...heat...heat."
"Eat the bunny...munch...munch...munch."

I'm packing up crap at my parents.
You know the crap...the stuff that you've left there because you don't want to take it to college...
...and then you just keep "forgetting" to pack it up when you're home...

Anyway, I finally started packing it up, and found my Prom glasses from my senior year of high school.

And then I looked closer...both themes: Moonlight...

The week started when this one headed to the park...
...while this one headed to swimming lessons...
...they both had a lot of fun...

...Then we headed to Nephew #1's ball game...
...Mini #2 made a new friend...

...good hit!...
...and then this kid...well, he was even more entertaining...
...swing!...
...Mini #2 made another new friend...
...and Nephew #1 made it home...
...everyone came to play...
...we checked out the new bridge...
...and then cooled off in the water...
...Mini #2 decided to sit here...
...not such a good decision...
...then he waved bye bye...
...as they all took off to pull the lawnmower out of the mud...
...we had some good old fashioned fun...
...mourned the loss of a cake...
(yes, those are leaves)
...and had fun with family...
...we celebrated Father's Day...
...with a s'more fest...
...and family!...
...Mini #2 ran the bases at a ball game...
...and Mini #1 did too...
...and well, Mini #2 really wanted to get in on the action...
Finally - Engineering Man sent the ultimate happiness picture...our house is done!!!
