Friday's Favorites...Mini #1 and his favorite word

Published on 4.16.2010 in , , ,

This past weekend I was at my wit's end with Mini #1. Engineering Man was at drill and literally everything I asked Mini #1 he always said the opposite. No matter what.

Sunday, I counted how many times he said "No."

106.

Of those 106 times, 8 of them were just because I had asked a question like: "Do you want something to eat?"

Although, I did count it if he said "no" and then turned right around and said, "I want a granola bar."

Every other time it was for something he had to do, or absolutely couldn't do.

I also didn't count the number of times he said, "yes" when I told him "no."

Awesome. Just awesome.

Thursday Things I Never Thought I'd Hear...and then I went shopping with my niece

Published on 4.15.2010 in ,

My sister's brother-in-law is getting married.

My sister, her daughter, my mom and I went shopping for his wedding gift.

On the way to the store, my sister asked my 2-year-old niece what to get for him.

"Tandy."

"You want to get candy for him?"

"Yea.  M&Ms."

(giggling)

"You want to get M&Ms for him?"

"No, me get tandy."

(more giggling)

"So if you're getting the candy, what are we getting for your uncle?"

"Um...I don't know."

She'll make a great shopping partner some day.

The ultimate rental vehicle...

Published on 4.14.2010 in , ,

This past weekend Engineering Man had to go to drill, approximately an hour and a half away.

He still doesn't have his car back from the shop.

We decided he needed to get a rental so I could still have a vehicle.

He asked for the cheapest, most economical vehicle they had.

Imagine my extreme delight when they gave him this...

...and saw it with him in it from the side...

...awesome...

Totally made my weekend.

DIY of the week...door wreath

Published on 4.13.2010 in ,

I got this for my birthday...

(Thanks Hart!)

...and with it I bought this to make a wreath...

I started by taking one of the four and wrapping it on itself...

...connecting it by twisting it together. There's wire in the branch so it was easy...

I then took a green branch, started at about the halfway point of the blue berries, and twisted it in...

...and then did the same with the other blue one...

...and finally the last green branch...

I wasn't happy with it, but then amazingly, a happy accident occurred. I shut my door...

...and the wreath flattened. I liked it more.

And then I went to sleep and my OCD kicked in.

I found that something was missing.

So back to "Wobby Bobby" we went and picked up a red branch of berries.

I untwisted the berry bunches from the branch (say that 10 times fast)...

...and inserted them to the wreath, wrapping the wire edge in the wreath to hold it in place.

Ah, much better. Just don't tell Engineering Man that I ended up turning the wreath 4 times before I settled on the way I actually left it.

Yep, OCD.
