Friday's Favorites...a little common sense...
Published on 4.29.2011 in Friday's Favorites, parenting
A friend recently recommended the following article...
Parents, don't dress your girls like tramps, by LZ Granderson
...the author's stance is that dressing children like, well, prostitutes, is the parents' choice. And...they need to stop being their child's friends.
My favorite quote:
"The way I see it, my son can go to therapy later if my strict rules have scarred him. But I have peace knowing he'll be able to afford therapy as an adult because I didn't allow him to wear or do whatever he wanted as a kid."

I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.

Thursday Things I Never Thought I'd Hear...
Published on 4.21.2011 in Mini #1, Thursday Things
Mini #1 came home from his "new" Sunday School with my cousin.
Mr. Napa came walking in laughing...
"I'm not sure where you take this kid, but you might have to rethink it."
"Why?"
"I asked him how Sunday School was and he said that, 'It was good, but I didn't go to the one with the hooker.'"
Oh dear God...

How to burn...
Published on 4.20.2011 in farming
...you light a match...
The End.
hahaha...
Really, though, that's how it all starts.
Dad has a "torch" of sorts that drops flammable liquid. As you strike a match and light the fluid, it ends up dropping little balls of fire on the ground.
sidenote: the grass is being burned because...well, this blog really sums it up well, and has great pictures...
...I'll wait while you check it out...
Back? Ok...
So, as dad set the fire...
...for this part of the field...
...and as the blog above states, it started to burn quickly...
...very quickly...
...and this is what it looked like in the end...
For perspective...Dad's in the same place as he was in the first picture.
So, what do you think? Crazy? Questions??
