Mrs. K asked me to help her do some minor remodeling in her house.

She had this fabulous brass fireplace insert that I just couldn't quite understand why she wanted to get rid of it.

HA.

Needless to say I'd read about some high temperature paint here that you could use on fireplace inserts, grills, etc.  to make them perk up.

It totally did the trick.

First, we roughed up the insert with a fine grit sandpaper.

Then, we taped off the edges to keep the lines crisp.

I had a little help with this step.

Painted one coat...

And then another to...tada...

Presto chango new fireplace insert.

Still trying to decide how to handle the inside of the screen holder, but I'll keep you posted on any changes.

Oh, and with the paint can open, Mrs. K also decided to tackle their 15+ year old grill.

Presto chango look at this difference...

What do you all think?  Anything you've made dramatic changes to with the help of a paint can?

My boys don't share, but if you want to...
