A few weeks back my best friend called me...

"MIKAELA!  You have to come visit so we can knock one off your 30 before 30 list"...

Now, mind you, I grew up on a farm and have always known where milk comes from.  Unfortunately, Mini #1 has not had this luxury and has told me before milk comes from the store.

Crap.

Hence, I felt it was my duty to take him on a tour of a dairy farm to figure out exactly where that milk comes from.

The Shatto Milk Company is a family owned operation about 45 minutes north of Kansas City.  For those of you that live in the metro area, their milk is the one in the "YUMMY" glass jars.

Fabulous milk by the way.

So, this past Saturday, we took our boys and husbands on a tour of the dairy farm.

(A little background...Mrs. N and I have known each other since high school.  We got married a month apart, our oldest boys are 3 weeks apart in age and our youngest boys are 3 months apart in age. We're the type of friends that no matter how long it's been, it's easy.)

The tour was great.  They showed us their baby calves...

...and let the kids, and adults, brush them.

One cow was even set out and you could hand milk her.

They showed us their milkers...

 ...and shot us with milk...

They took us on a quick tour of their cheese/butter operation...

...(sidenote: anyone else as scared as I am of the trouble these two could get in to when they're older???)...

...and showed us the "to be coming" location of their new store...

We were given samples of each of their different types of milk: Chocolate, Strawberry, Banana, Orange, and Root Beer.

...and finished the morning off with a picnic lunch.

Great way to start off the holiday weekend.

This holiday weekend included a trip to see family...

...knocking another one off the 30 before 30 list...

...piano playing...

...with our feet...

...airplane flying...

...boat floating...

...bicycle tipping...

...helicopter flying...

...so so much fun...

...and exhaustion.  Wait...it's Tuesday?  UGH.
