Barefeet in High Heels

The week included Engineering Man finally hanging up...

...our flag...

...Mini #1 taking over my camera...

...to snap this picture...

...piling on daddy...

...a trip to the pool...

...with snacks included...

...a trip to another pool...

...where Mini #2 "swam"...

...and lounged...

...Mini #1 made a new friend at the BBQ...

...and we watched some awesome fireworks...

...the 4th started with the neighborhood parade...

...where flags were handed out...

...we walked up to the commons and I got an amazing shot of the guys...

...(check out the street sign...my "Knights" in shining armor!)...

...Mini #1 went down the slide and Mini #2 headed up...

...and then Engineering Man headed up because Mini #2 wouldn't come down...

...we played neighborhood baseball... 

...we got some of the neighborhood kids together for a photo...

...and some more amazing fireworks...

...great work guys!...

...a Saturday at the Farmer's Market with an awesome fountain...

...Mini #1 even decided that filling up...

...his boots was in order...

Craziness!!  Mini #1 is gone this week to the grandparents.  Wish me luck!

On this 4th, I'll leave you with my favorite picture of Engineering Man, his dad, and Mini #1 (yes...#1)...

Let this 4th be a reminder of all those who faught for your earthly and eternal freedom!

As we rounded the corner...we noticed huge...well, rocks...sticking out of the landscape.

Nearly 200 of them dotted the local area...

...and ranged up to 27 feet in diameter...

It has been designated as a National Natural Landmark.

From the pamphlet we picked up, Engineering Man figured out these are "concretions".

Basically, the sandstone was cemented together into the spheres...

...and as erosion took place, over time the concretions were revealed.

This is the only place on Earth to see such a large number of the concretions together in one place.

$3 per adult and $.50 per child...

...goes to pay for maintaining the area...

They encourage guests to climb on the rocks...

...and to walk around and take it all in...

I don't think Mini #2 got much out of it...

...but Mini #1 loved it...

...and I loved all the photo ops...

At least we've got the pictures to remind Mini #2 that he really did go...

Even though he was definitely more interested in hanging with Dad...

Go. Climb. Experience. Definitely a place we'll go to again when the boys can climb by themselves.
