Barefeet in High Heels

I of course, again, forgot my camera more often than I had it.  

Awesome, right?

So, here's what I took pictures of, and I'll try to do better this week. 

The week included learning to do dishes...

...a trip north from this...

...to this...

...Ri-dic-u-lous!!!...

...we danced with a caterpillar...

...and learned to stand on our head...

...all by ourselves...

...even mini #2 got in on the action...

...Papa made some improvements to the hideout...

...that included this cool bucket...

...and well, when you're an electrician, you HAVE to have an electrical plug...

...we stomped in the snow...

...and followed Papa...

...went sledding...

...before passing out...


...and blowing up ships with cousins!!...

...the rest of the weekend including driving, seeing Wichita friends, and having a blast at church before FINALLY taking down the "winter" decorations...

I think coming back to 70* weather made me happy to put some red up.  Updates on house decor will be up this week!

Long story short...in church the following picture came up on the screen...

"Daddy...that's like Papa and Grandma's fence."

Not quite...but close...

Dad has a hat...

...I love it.

Definitely a good indicator that he's a farmer and "gentleman rancher."

And if you don't know what it means...nobull.net...

Nick #3, or Arizona Nick...(Engineering Man has about five friends named Nick)...came this weekend to the farm...and had some great ones...

I think my favorite was the following...

"Why is there a baby lying in a pool of pee?"

"What?!?"

"That picture..."

"That's baby Jesus lying in a manger of hay."

"I'm going to hell."

...4-wheelers...

...4 people on a tractor...

...grain bins...

...anhydrous...

...planting...

...inoculating beans...

...jumping hay bales...

 ...jumping terraces...

...jumping silos...

hahahaha...remind me to tell you that story...

...roof sliding...

...cutting thistles...

...chopping cane...

...corn knife scars...

...goose poop...

...butchering chickens...

...milkweed...

...wild strawberries...

...line dried clothes...

...skinned knees...

...poison ivy...

...but have you noticed we've been burning a lot lately? 

No, we're not pyromaniacs, but maybe we got carried away this past weekend...

We went from this...

...to this...

Yes, that tree is laying on the ground.  Fun, huh?

...you light a match...

Really, though, that's how it all starts.

Dad has a "torch" of sorts that drops flammable liquid.  As you strike a match and light the fluid, it ends up dropping little balls of fire on the ground.

sidenote: the grass is being burned because...well, this blog really sums it up well, and has great pictures...

Back?  Ok...

So, as dad set the fire...

...and as the blog above states, it started to burn quickly...

...very quickly...

...and this is what it looked like in the end...

For perspective...Dad's in the same place as he was in the first picture.

This past week seemed like I had my phone camera in hand more than my D60.

...losing a diamond in my wedding ring!  UGH!...

...shopping...

...and margaritas...

...spring weather...

...while I took pictures of the fire!...

Yes it was set on purpose.  Fun, huh?  Oh, and yes I'm a slight pyromaniac...why do you ask?
