Thursday Things...

My nephew asked my dad to open one of Mini #2's birthday presents.

Dad had to use a knife.

Nephew #1 looked at him and said, "Be careful.  That knife is really sharp.  And you're really old."

Awesome.

fyi...my dad is only 56.

...yes, I find that very sad, and surprisingly, it made my cheapskate side happy...

Where's our famous athlete??

The Marysville Advocate, my hometown newspaper, posted an article originally posted in the Washington County News, about the Meyer siblings...five sisters and one brother that basically ended up birthing the entire non-Catholic Hanover/Bremen area.

The Advocate article talked about how four pro athletes have actually come from three of these sisters.  I don't know how random this is, but I found it quite interesting...

Now that you've read all about the history, here's why I find it so interesting.

Since I'm from that area, and not Catholic, I'm from one of the sisters.  And well, our sister didn't have one of the four athletes.

So, where's our athlete??  Or is he/she still coming?

Alright Engineering Man, let's start grooming Mini #1 and Mini #2.

Today was going to be a post about how much I love being only a few days away from closing on our house in Wichita...

...but you see, last night I got a call from our relocation company and they said, "We hit a snag and may not be able to close Tuesday..."

Needless to say I was cussing. 

A lot.

Wish me luck as I deal with big corporations today that forget about the people they're screwing around with...

This is a photo of me and all my cousins on my mom's side...
...the same ones that were in the picture on Monday...

...I'm the one on the bottom row in the blue shirt with the stunner glasses...

...I love the clothes...

...and yes, there is a set of twins in this picture...

...I'm about 90% certain Grandma still has that tree...

...the couch in the background is right now in my storage unit...

...We lost one cousin, the one next to me in the red, way before we should have...

...I miss him...

...everyone in this photo, beside my siblings, are all K-State fans...

...I dealt with a LOT of purple growing up...

...I still deal with a lot of purple...

...Best part of all??  All cousins, and their significant others, well, except my brother and sister-in-law, got together this past Friday; and had a BLAST...

...well...at least the girls did...

DIY of the week...Appreciation Puzzle

Before I left Texas Mrs. K asked me to help with Teacher Appreciation Week...
















...one project was an Appreciation Puzzle...
















...group effort led to some great ideas...
















...we used a poster board to hand draw out a puzzle for each class at the school...
















...we then put lines for the students to write their names, wrote BACK so the students new what side to decorate...
















...and also wrote out a system so we knew how to put each class's puzzle together quickly...

...unfortunately because of the ice/snow, I didn't ge tthe chance to finish them all for Mr. K...
















...but we got quite a few back...
















...THIS has got to be my favorite...
















...I mean really?  Who doesn't love Snickers?...
