I'm going to be 29...
...which means I have EXACTLY one year to get my 30 Before 30 list done...

Thursday Things I Never Thought I'd Hear...

I had to take Mini #1 to the doctor this week. He had an ear infection.
While there I had to also make a well-child appointment for him. He needs four shots before he can enroll in kindergarten next week.
He doesn't like shots.
"Mom...I don't want to get shots."
"Well, if you want to go to kindergarten, you're going to have to get shots. I know you don't like them. Papa doesn't either."
"But Papa has to get shots too, right? And he has to go to the doctor too, right?"
"Yes, sometimes he does."
"Yea, he does 'cause he's OLD! Right momma?"
"Yep...(laughing)."
"Don't tell him I said that, k?"
Sorry buddy...that one was just too good."

DIY season trade of the week...

April is right around the corner (ugh...I know, right?), which means a new MANTEL!
In preparation, I decided to diy a quick wreath change yesterday.
I grabbed a fall wreath from last year and also some forsythia bush branches that I randomly picked up for free from my old job. I can't remember why, but they were going to throw them out, so I confiscated them.
Anyway, I took out all the fall stuff, put it in a bag and put it away with the rest of my random decorations.
Then, I took the forsythia, and placed them through the grapevine wreath just along one side of the wreath.
Stay tuned next week for the mantel reveal. After I get it done... :)

A birthday wish list...

Saturday is my birthday...
...and I've already received presents from my sister, and my mom...
...the only person left is Engineering Man and the boys...
And apparently he's already picked out my present.
So, here's some eye candy for you all and a wish list for me, for you know...Mother's Day or something!

Monday's Week in Review....

This week included a trip to see the family...
...we went on a hike in the woods...
...read some signs...
...found the next top super model (check out the foot pop)...
...FINALLY got to see big brother...
...and some super tall trees...
...nephew #1 read all the signs...
...and then everyone tried to fall in a cistern...
...yes, mini #2 has on pajama pants...
...we posed some more...
...saw some gorgeous green leaves...
...and some things that made me smile...
...yes, those are my siblings...
...mini #2 went down a "pirate pole"...
...and this one...
...well, he was just ornery...
...then we went to the "Monkey Butt Ranch"...don't ask...
...Niece #2 posed some more...
...we went down slides...
...through obstacle courses...
...and took pictures...
...had a picnic under a tent...
..after all the excitement, cookies were baked...
...and a birthday was celebrated!
...I can't believe he's already 6!!...
...when the boys and I got back, we took off for the lake...
...and made mommy smile!...
...Mini #2 finally got the hang of fishing...
...and Mini #1 kept right on in the swing of things...
...eventually, daddy caught a fish!...
...and Mini #2 finally figured out what that whole "throw a line in the water and reel it back in" thing was all about...
...I wrapped up the week with planting.
So happy the backyard finally has some character!
