Barefeet in High Heels

...I was standing on Main Street (ie Broadway) in Marysville, KS talking to a high school buddy, when a girlfriend of mine told me to "GET IN THE VAN!"

Going against my instincts to just go home and go to bed after a long night of waitressing...I jumped in the van...

...and sat on this guy's lap...

...crazy small world...

...after making out with him (sorry mom)...


















...and him grabbing my ass (again...sorry mom)...

...he didn't ask for my number...

...I thought: at least it was a fun fail...

...the next day our home phone rang...

...and it was him...

...apparently he'd gone to his friend's house, to call my friend that was in the van and that friend's mom answered the phone...

...after she determined Engineering Man wasn't a total psycho she accidentally gave him my cousin's number...

...that cousin thought he was talking about my other cousin, and gave him her number...

...and then that cousin finally gave him my number...

...we had our first "date" that night...

...and 10 years later, he's still grabbing my ass...

This weekend included...

...a 3-month picture...

...sword fighting...

...celebrating a 5-year anniversary with a 3D movie...

...sexy hon...

...adding a new fake floral arrangement to my office...

...finding a new use for a shirt...

...softball games (stupid camera battery was dead)...

...breakfast at IHOP...

...smiles for mommy...

...finally crashing after being in the sun all day...

...and of course, 4 1/2 hours of LOST.

loveit.

...I smashed cake in my husband's face; only after he'd did it to me...

...had a garter taken off with teeth...

...climbed to the top of a well...

...to ring a bell...

...and said "I do" to the man of my dreams...

Happy Anniversary sweetheart.

(I was also 10 pounds lighter...but we don't need to talk about that.)

OK, so I know this is going to be mushy and romantic and...blah, blah, blah...

BUT...I really don't care. :) I have to brag.

Last Friday and Saturday was the ultimate event of my job. Basically, it means I spend 26 hours in Koch Arena from 8 a.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Saturday. Awesome, huh?

Besides that, it just so happens that Mini #1's birthday also fell on this past weekend.

So, when I got home from Koch on Saturday evening I was exhausted, both mentally and physically and did not want to even think about doing anything at the house.

...and I didn't have to.

As I walked in the house, I discovered that Engineering Man had done the laundry, cleaned the sheets, picked up the house, dusted, swept, vacuumed, cleaned the bathrooms, done the dishes, mopped the floors and given the boys baths.

Seriously, he's fabulous.

And...just as a side note, today is our 5th anniversary.
