Friday's Favorites...girls weekend...

Published on 11.26.2010 in , , , ,

Finally got around to hitting Walmart for a new card reader so here goes...

Last weekend I headed north to Lawrence to spend some time with some of my Wichita girlfriends.

We hit bars...

...lots of bars...

...and took a picture of us at each...

...and every...

...one...

...if you've stopped counting...

...this one makes seven total.  :)

(Guess I can check pole dancing off my 30 more before 60 list...)

We even tried to take a self-picture.  Didn't work out so well...

Since we were already there...

...we decided to drink at a couple of them...

...but just a few...

...riiiiiiiiight...

We talked about awkward turtles...

...and shopped...

...We danced in our chairs...

...and ate popcorn...

(Mrs. P...how is it that I always seem to get pictures of your hand and food??)

...tried to be gangsters...

...spiked some hot cocoa...

...for a "cold" game; at least to a Texan...

...saw a rockstar...

...and even took a picture with him when fate intervened again...

...attended a football game...

...and snuck into a private party...

...at the top...

...of this...

Oh, Kansas!  How I've missed you...

At least...I've missed my friends!

Girls...we're doing this again (or something similar) soon!

Friday's Favorite Things...Sedgwick County Zoo

Published on 8.20.2010 in , ,

The zoo in Wichita is unbelievable.

Don't get me wrong.  I'm not biased at all as I grew up never going to the Sedgwick County zoo until we moved here.

And, I've been to a lot of zoos.

They have lions...

...flamingos...

...peacocks...

...bears...

...gorillas...

...tigers...

...rhinos...

...giraffes...

...hippos...

...meerkats...

...and an exotic petting zoo with each of the continents...
Most of the animals have amazing habitats, and for those that don't, the zoo has a plan to improve them.

I love the layout of the zoo and especially enjoy the fact that you don't have to walk far to see animals.  With a 3-year-old and another one in a stroller, that's rather important.
