Driving home from church I called my mom who had been trying to get a hold of us while we were there...

"What's up?"

"Oh, we don't need you now. Where were you?"

"In church...you know...that thing we do on Sunday mornings..."

"We skipped church today. We're out golfing."

***Heard in the background from my dad***

"Yea, it's better to be out golfing thinking about God than in church thinking about golfing."

Definitely a good indicator that he's a farmer and "gentleman rancher."

A Father's Day story...

Mini #1 asked Papa to read a book to him as they were eating breakfast on Father's Day.

The book he picked is an adorable "Funny Bunny" book all about cute cuddly bunnies.

Here's Papa's version.

"Shoot the bunny...shoot...shoot...shoot."

"Butcher the bunny...cut...cut...cut."

"Cook the bunny...heat...heat...heat."

"Eat the bunny...munch...munch...munch."

Thursday Things I Laugh At...

My sister's musical was this past Sunday...

...as I was sitting in the front row, a couple next to me started a conversation.

"Who are you here for?"

"My sister, the director."

"Oh! You all have an older brother too, right?"

"Yes, we do."

"I think I've seen him in church before a couple times."

"Yes; I think he's been there a few times."

"And he and his wife always come to help at the musical too, right? I always thought it was so nice of them to come and watch the kids for your sister when she's busy directing."

At this point...I knew something was wrong...

"Wait... that's not my brother...are you talking about my parents??"

"He's taller, has really dark black hair?"

"Yep...those are my parents."

So...Nephew #1 thinks Papa's old...and yet he's mistook for my brother...awesome.
