Barefeet in High Heels

While waiting for my cousins to leave the church, my nieces came up to me...

"Aunt Kaela..."

"What's up girls?"

"What are they going to leave in?"

"That car right there..."

"No Aunt Kaela...there's a horse and carriage coming."

"What?!?"

"Yea.  A horse and carriage because that's what princes and princesses leave in!"

Apparently you were the epitome of a princess, Ashley!!!

Oh, and sisters of mine...be prepared.  I have a feeling you'll have some expensive weddings in the future...

Mom took Niece #2 to the movies... Beauty and the Beast...

During the part where the Beast transforms into the prince and becomes the person of Belle's dreams, Niece #2 looked at mom and said...

"Grandma...I feel all tingly inside."

"It's a girl thing!"

It so is...

Dad got pulled over for speeding on the way to see us.

Niece #2 looked at mom super seriously and asked...

"Grandma...is Papa going to jail?"

The past week included bed head...

...football...

...looking super innocent...

...when he's really just done this...

...building a tent...

...climbing a grain bin...

...checking out Uncle D's new boat...

...while he tried to fix it...

...a new shirt...

...a frog...

...a baseball game...

...going to see Engineering Man's brick...

...helping Grandma Great and Grandpa Great move to our future neck of the woods...

...time with cousins...

...at the movies...

...and in the gorgeous outdoors...

...a trip to the rickety bridge...yes, that's a dirt road...

...the bridge has a few holes...yes, I'm on the bridge...

...and wrapping it all up by tossing rocks in...

How are you enjoying the spring weather?

Niece #2...the one who is just a few months younger than Mini #1...went to the zoo the other day.

She called me on Skype later that night to tell me what she saw...

"AUNT TAEYA!!!  I saw the big tortoises, a monkey peein' and a goat poopin'!!"

Guess she got her money's worth...

Niece #2 is the ultimate girly girl.  

The ULTIMATE.

After showing off her newest pretties she looked at my sister and said...

"Mommy, Jesus don't want me to be ugly."

My brother-in-law gave my sister a Wii for Valentine's Day.  

Over lunch Sunday, Aunt A and the cousins came for lunch. We were discussing if mom & dad had a Wii so that Nephew #1 and Niece #2 could play Wii over the Internet with them.

They don't have one, and unfortunately, ours is buried somewhere in storage.  Maybe I'll find it in September...

Anyway, my favorite line of the conversation was from my niece as she wanted to make sure that Grandma and Papa had understood what Nephew #1 was asking them...

"Grandma...do you have weed??"

The weekend included hanging with mom...

...a visit from the cousins...

...a trip to the nature center...

...to call birds...

...and check out the frogs...

...and the turtles...

...chewing on our straps...


















...and hardly ever pushing a stroller...

























...peering over the edge of the prairie dog habitat...

...finding a new house to live in in  Texas...

...relaxing with friends during the open house...

...being super happy that our favorite babysitter was around...
