My moving OCD...

Published on 10.27.2010 in , ,

Before the moving guys came to the house I organized each room with a post it note.

Each color coincided with a room in our future house.  For example, blue was Mini #1's future room. So boxes marked with "blue" will be placed in the new house in the "blue" room.

I did this to make it easier  for the unloading of the giant truck that they packed to the roof.

Needless to say I had a whole bunch of different colors of post it notes, and well, didn't use all of them.

Engineering Man was helping me unpack this week and asked..."Got enough post its?"

He'll thank me when he realizes this was just one of 15 rooms and closets.

...and I can tell him where his socks are...

DIY of the week...new wall art

Published on 4.20.2010 in , ,

This wall used to have a snowman picture on it.

The 80 degree weather we've been having made me realize it was time to switch it up.

My mom (and well, I guess dad did too) gave me this cross for my birthday.

Thanks mom!

But I thought it looked a little naked on the wall.

So, I added shelves and my current collection of Willowtree angels/figurines.

What do you think?

My OCD is driving me nuts.  Might have to change things.

Although, I did switch the angels about 5 times.

UGH.

DIY of the week...door wreath

Published on 4.13.2010 in ,

I got this for my birthday...

(Thanks Hart!)

...and with it I bought this to make a wreath...

I started by taking one of the four and wrapping it on itself...

...connecting it by twisting it together. There's wire in the branch so it was easy...

I then took a green branch, started at about the halfway point of the blue berries, and twisted it in...

...and then did the same with the other blue one...

...and finally the last green branch...

I wasn't happy with it, but then amazingly, a happy accident occurred. I shut my door...

...and the wreath flattened. I liked it more.

And then I went to sleep and my OCD kicked in.

I found that something was missing.

So back to "Wobby Bobby" we went and picked up a red branch of berries.

I untwisted the berry bunches from the branch (say that 10 times fast)...

...and inserted them to the wreath, wrapping the wire edge in the wreath to hold it in place.

Ah, much better. Just don't tell Engineering Man that I ended up turning the wreath 4 times before I settled on the way I actually left it.

Yep, OCD.

I could have been wrong...

Published on 4.07.2010 in , , ,

Maybe, just maybe, Mini #1's "engineering" tendencies aren't really that.

Maybe, just maybe, he got it from me instead of Engineering Man.

Maybe, just maybe, he got a little bit of my OCD tendencies.

This was a mish-mash bucket of toys...

...that turned into this...

...and this...

...and this...

That's probably a pretty small maybe.

Crap.
